Ranking and statistics

What do I need to play?

You need a website account, a linked Steam account and the client for your chosen game. Link Steam in your profile.

How is ELO calculated in 5v5?

ELO depends on the match result and both teams’ average ELO before the match. Beating a stronger team earns more points than beating a weaker team. Losing to a lower-rated team costs more.

When both teams have the same average ELO, a win gives +25 and a loss −25. The ELO floor may limit the loss.

CS 1.6 and CS:GO have separate rankings.

Do kills, ADR or MVP awards give extra ELO?

No. The 5v5 calculation uses the team result and opponents' strength. Individual statistics describe your performance but do not add an ELO bonus. The round-score margin is not a separate multiplier either.

When do I rank up or down in 5v5?

Your level follows your current ELO. You rank up after crossing the next threshold and rank down after falling below your current rank’s threshold. The rating-card bar shows progress towards the next level.

You enter the standings after completing the required placement matches. The rating card shows how many are left.

What do K/D, ADR, K/R and HS% mean?
  • K / D / A: kills, deaths and assists.
  • K/D: kills divided by deaths. With 0 deaths, we divide by 1: 2 kills and 0 deaths gives 2.00, and 0/0 gives 0.00.
  • ADR: recorded damage divided by rounds played.
  • K/R: kills divided by rounds played.
  • HS%: headshot kills divided by all kills, multiplied by 100.
How do I read the advanced statistics?
  • KAST: the percentage of rounds in which you got a kill, an assist, survived or had your death quickly traded by a teammate. Meeting any one of these conditions counts.
  • FK / FD: opening kills and opening deaths in a round.
  • TR: trade kills following a teammate’s death.
  • 2K–5K: rounds with 2, 3, 4 or 5 kills respectively.
  • CL: clutch wins. PL / DEF: bomb plants and defuses. UD: grenade damage.
Why does a statistic show “—”?

A dash means a statistic is unavailable, not zero. The match timeline shows whether a round ended by elimination, time running out, bomb explosion or defuse.

What happens if a match is cancelled?

A cancelled match does not count as a win or loss and does not change ELO.
