Animgraph 2 reached the main CS2 build on April 20, 2026. The animation system covered in our earlier beta report is now part of the regular game. The April 14–24 patches also addressed weapon animations, movement transitions and camera behaviour.
From beta fixes to the live build
The April 14 and 17 beta updates corrected poses near corners, third-person aiming stutter, grenade throws and rapid weapon switching. Valve also adjusted foot placement and the head movement seen during counter-strafing.
On April 20, all changes from the beta went live. That release fixed silent ladder climbing at running speed and a crash during the halftime team switch. A separate patch restored the delay between burst-fire shots.
Recoil camera changes, not new bullet trajectories
On April 21, Valve brought camera motion during recoil closer to CS:GO. The patch notes explicitly say that bullet trajectories should continue to match CS2. Camera movement caused by being hit now plays in full regardless of network latency; its effect on shots still applies immediately on the server.
Further animation polish
The April 22 and 24 updates refined movement on narrow ledges, foot transitions, crouching in the air and bomb-plant animations. Fixes also covered XM1014 shells, Dual Berettas and a startup crash involving a non-default audio device. These are targeted corrections; Valve did not publish a measured FPS gain for this batch.
